Historia
Wooden psalmodikon with a nailed box construction. The body is made of tiger maple and the fretboard is walnut. The instrument is numbered to the right of the fretboard. One wire string wraps around the tuning key at one end and is screwed in to the box at the other end. ; The paslmodikon was invented in Scandinavia and used to lead choirs in churches and schools. The instrument is played with a bow. The item was collected by Albert Skare (1878-1967) in the early-to-mid 20th century for his collection of objects related to Norwegian settlers.
